Before diluents or emulsions are used, their environmental compatibility has to be examined. Because of their high viscosity polyesters and epoxies usually have an other application range than acrylates. In addition they contain hazardous substances. Therefore polyesters and epoxies are not suitable as a less hazardous substitute for acrylate grouts.

Background The increasing resistance of certain bacteria to antibiotics commonly used in bone cements has led to a demand for alternative antibacterial agents.
